Every minute we check the Java server play.mineplex.com through two independent services, mcstatus.io and mcsrvstat.us, and treat it as up if either can reach it — so one service having a hiccup never shows a false outage. We also check the Mineplex API’s reachability.

A single failed ping can be a quick restart or a network blip, so we wait for two checks in a row before marking Mineplex down, and only record it as an outage if it lasts a few minutes. The status re-checks every minute. If it shows up but you still can’t connect, see the troubleshooting guide.

Yes — the verdict at the top is a live, global ping, so everyone sees the same up or down answer at the same time. The home page also shows a shared uptime history — bars, a player-count graph and a recent-activity log — that everyone sees, not just you.
